The Nike V5 RNR is Ballin’ on a Budget

Sneakers can be expensive. But with the upcoming Nike V5 RNR, the American sportswear company wants to make one that’s both aesthetically pleasing and affordable. Going head-to-head with the likes of the ASICS GEL-1130 and the New Balance 530, if you want something that’ll keep your feet and your wallet happy, this silhouette is exactly what you need in your life.

The V5 RNR takes inspiration from running shoes of the early 2000s. In fact, when you take a closer look, you’ll immediately spot similarities between this and the ever-popular Zoom Vomero 5. Working on top of a breathable mesh base, it’s overlaid with synthetic leather panels for a vintage vibe. A glossy 3D Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, and additional Nike branding is embroidered on both the tongue tag and the heel.

Underfoot, the chunky midsole is crafted from foam for added comfort and cushioning, and it’s lined with a grippy rubber outsole to keep you on your feet. The silhouette is then finished off with 3M reflective accents throughout so you can flex ’em even in low-light conditions.

So far, three colourways have been revealed, offering a versatile selection. Two iterations feature white mesh bases with silver overlays, while the third option comes in a super stealthy all-black design. However, no matter which pair you go for, you’ll end up with a sneaker that’s comfortable, good looking, and perfect for everyday wear.

The Nike V5 RNR is positioned as a strong contender in the tech-runner market. Set to drop in Spring 2025, let us know which colourway you’re feeling the most, and be sure to keep it locked at Captain Creps for your best chance to secure your size!
