Nike is tapping into the raw energy of punk culture this season with the Nike Dunk Low “Dunks Not Dead.” A play on words of the phrase “punk’s not dead,” it captures the spirit of individuality and rebellion that defined the iconic movement back in the early ’70s.

This Dunk Low is one of the most unique colourways out there. Working on top of a black tumbled leather base, it’s overlaid by military-inspired canvas panels that give it a perfectly imperfect aesthetic. Tattered laces and rip-stop nylon on the tongue reinforce the surplus vibe, while a soft pink suede Swoosh hits the sidewalls for a pop of contrast that’s guaranteed to turn heads.

Underfoot, the midsole has been completely blacked out, and the standout feature are the custom patches and pins that can be attached to the shoe. These are printed with phrases like “Dunks Not Dead” and “Just Do It.” There’s even one with the word “Nike,” where the letter “N” is circles, similar to an anarchy symbol.
