The JJJJound x New Balance 993 Goes Back to Basics

Over the years, JJJJound has become one of New Balance‘s strongest collaborators, and it’s thanks to collections like the upcoming JJJJound x New Balance 993. First rumoured at the end of last year, what was originally reported to be one colourway has now become two, and sneakerheads couldn’t be happier.

Justin Saunders’ first take on the 993 is exactly what you’d expect from the Montreal-based brand. Working on top of “Military Urban Grey” mesh, one pair is overlaid by light brown pigskin suede, while the other opts for a rich “Olive” that’s perfect for spring. Oversized leather “N” logos are stitched across the lateral and medial sidewalls in black, and depending on which pair you go for, the ABZORB midsole comes in two different colourways.

JJJJound’s iconic logo is stamped around the heel, and the tongues are embroidered with the all-important “Made in USA” tagline. Both sneakers are then packed in special edition shoeboxes that are almost as collectible as the shoes themselves.
