Stay true to Blue in the Jordan Point Lane!
Since 1997 the Jordan Brand has released a flurry of lifestyle shoes that utilize similar features that we love on Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker models. The Jordan Point Lane is the latest lifestyle offering from the brand – and this time it has arrived in one of the most iconic colourways to ever grace an Air Jordan sneaker.
The Jordan Point Lane takes its name from the street where Michael Jordan’s home in Highland Park, Illinois is located.
Albeit a lifestyle shoe, the Jordan Point Lane keeps the sporty vibe throughout the shoe. Mostly because it takes inspiration from three iconic Air Jordan models. The 3, 6, and 11’s. The first thing you’ll notice on this brand new silhouette is the nubuck overlay taken from the Air Jordan 6. The J11’s tongue strip has inspired the lace loop, placed just below the plush ankle collar. The 11’s nylon base can also be spotted from the midfoot to the rear.
Air Jordan 3 details are found on the heel – specifically the TPU heel tab and the Nike Air emblem that has since then become a staple on most Air Jordans.
This colourway arrives in a True Blue-inspired build-up that boasts a combination of White, Blue, Grey, and Red. This colourway is similar to the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue”.
A large Air Max unit on the heel with TPU wing provides great cushioning for all-day comfort. Underneath the midsole is a mix of solid rubber and a translucent sole that covers the lateral side and some of the medial portion of the forefoot. The forefoot features a multi-directional herringbone traction with a concentric pattern on the ball of the foot to ensure grip. A Jumpman logo can be seen on the forefoot and a “NIKE” label on the heel.
Launched on June 2021, the Jordan Point Lane is a solid, more affordable option for fans of Jordan Hybrids. The huge Air Max unit is also a pretty cool addition too.
With a colourway like this rendition of the “True Blue”, expect more iconic flavours from Jordan Brand as they release more pairs of the Jordan Point Lane. They have executed this one brilliantly, they did well to pay homage to iconic Air Jordans on this silhouette.
