Another rare colourway of the Nike Air Max 1 joins the 35th-anniversary lineup in 2022! This pair is unlike any regular Air Max 1 we’ve seen, why? Because this trainer rocks a crepe sole! The Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Crepe Hemp” makes a comeback since its first arrival back in 2004. Another instant classic taken from the Air Max archives as we celebrate Air Max technology’s milestone.
The original version from 2004 posed problems due to the toebox easily ripping off. But Nike modified the toe box and reinforced the toe with a suede mudguard. Bouncy Air Max cushioning paired with the soft crepe outsole will make you feel extremely cosy!
In 1987, a sneaker icon called Nike Air Max 1 hit retailers for the first time. And it forever changed the course of Nike’s running line from then on. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 1 boasted the eye-catching Air Max unit in the heel. This served as the window to the bubble – exposed on the sides to allow more bounce and provide more cushioning.
When Tinker Hatfield finally got the blueprint right, he did the same to the Air Jordan 3, and then the Air Max 90. When you talk about these two sneakers, we thank the Air Max 1 for paving the way for these Air Max trainers.
The Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Crepe Hemp” puts a twist on the usual Air Max 1. Hemp fabric comprises the upper of the shoe, while a Brown suede mudguard adds to the consistency of neutral earthy tones.
Mint Foam Blue Swooshes and Nike labels stand out and bring cooler hues.
Living up to its namesake is the crepe sole. If you haven’t tried any footwear with a crepe sole, these outsoles are soft and grippy – you won’t be disappointed.
Stay tuned for its release in September 2022 on the official Nike website.
