Vintage designs for a vintage trainer. This Nike Blazer Mid ’77 “Just Do It” boasts a major throwback to the 70s and 80s with this makeover. Nike’s famous three-word slogan appears on the rear for “motivational” purposes. What better way for a shoe that tells you to “just do it”.
The high-cut construction and large Swooshes of the Nike Blazer Mid became an instant classic once it hit retailers. It’s the very definition of a Nike lifestyle shoe. But long before its popularity in streetwear, the Nike Blazer Mid graced a different floor in the early 70s. This new colourway boasts vintage tones that make up for an undeniable classic.
Launched in 1972, the Nike Blazer was the brand’s premier basketball shoe alongside the Nike Bruin. Both sneakers featured a thick rubber cupsole with great traction for the hardwood courts. As new hoops styles emerged, the Nike Blazer had to find a new calling outside basketball. And that’s where the Blazer transitioned as a Nike Sportswear shoe.
Featuring leather on most colourways, the Nike Blazer Mid 77 also came with suede overlays on the toe and forefoot.
Old-school Nike tags appear on the heel and tongue.
Below, a herringbone traction pattern provided consistent grip on most surfaces.
This Nike Blazer Mid ’77 “Just Do It” sticks to a clean and simple design ethos with a crisp white leather upper. Sail White suede overlays blend well with the Sail White cupsole for that added vintage effect.
Red outline covers the white leather Swoosh. Underneath, a Metallic Silver “Just Do It.” phrase appears.
Green accents hit the NIKE on the heel and the rubber outsole.
